Q. How long can a coating system last on my roof?
| A. This depends on several factors. |
|
What type of roof you have (coatings last longer on roofs without ponding water and no abusive foot traffic, or dragging equipment). |
|
What coating is used. |
|
Who applies your system. |
|
How abusive your roof environment is (chemicals, debris, etc.). |
| Many of our coating systems last almost twice their warranty period. |
Q. Why should I use a coating system instead of installing new metal or a single-ply membrane?
A. The #1 reason is value. Not every leaking roof is a good candidate for a coating system, but of the many who are, we can save you a lot of money.Rich Roofing Systems has the ability to install new metal and we are applicators for several single-ply manufacturers but, we have found a more valuable option for many of our clients through the use of coatings. Also remember you can write off the coating system as maintenance expense on your current year taxes.
Q. What if our metal roof is too rusted or our flat roof needs to be removed because it's too wet?
A. We offer 2 different single-ply systems for roofs that are not in good enough condition to restore with a coating system. We are a Duro-Last Master contractor and a GAF Master Contractor.
After a contractor or sales person presents your bid, ask who will be installing the system. Roof systems tend to last longer when they are applied under the watchful eye of the roofing company owner. It's your money, you should receive what you were promised.
Q. Our budget won't allow for a total coating system this year but, we have leaks we need fixed now, what can we do?
A. Many of our clients are a result of our leak repair service. After being able to locate and repair individual leaks for a period of time, they feel confident in using Rich Roofing Systems to apply a full system when the budget allows. We also find many roofs that do not need the full system applied, they basically just need their seams and units sealed.
Don't be fooled by people who say coating systems don't work or are only a temporary fix.
This typically means it's not what they are trying to sell.
